DAY 1: (Airport – Colombo)
Travel time: Approx. 45mints drive.
On arrival you will be welcomed to our island paradise by one of our hand selected Guide.
Afterwards you will be escorted to your vehicle and transfer to your hotel.
In the evening, conduct a Colombo sightseeing tour where you can enjoy street food at Galle face
green, travel through busy Pettah markets, Dutch hospital for amazing culinary delights, museum to
dive in a pool of knowledge.

DAY 2: (Colombo - Anuradhapura)
Travel time: Approx. 04.30hrs drive.
Begin your journey towards the Ancient city, Anuradhapura!
En route, you stop at Yapahuwa ancient city (a 300-foot fortified wonder dating back to the 13th
century) and explore the area.
Proceed to Anuradhapura and check into your hotel. Spend the afternoon enjoying the facilities at
your luxury resort.

DAY 3: (Anuradhapura)
This morning explores the ancient capital of Anuradhapura - a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous
for its well-preserved ancient ruins. One of the oldest continually inhabited cities in the world, it
was founded around 500 BC. Its golden age began around 260BC, when the King and his people
converted to Buddhism. The city became vast, spreading over many miles.
Of great interest are the 2,200-year-old Sacred Bodhi-Tree; the Brazen Palace, once a nine storey
residence for monks; the 4th century Smadhi Buddha masterpiece and the Ruvanvalisaya Dagoba -
a 90-metre-high dome-shaped shrine towering over the surrounding countryside.
In the afternoon, travel eight miles to the mountain peak of Mihintale. It is believed that this was the
site of a momentous meeting between the monk Mahinda and King Devanampiyatissa, introducing
Buddhism to the country. Exploring Mihintale involves climbing a flight of 1,840 shallow stone
steps, and a short final section with uneven steps and a handrail leading to the summit of the
Missaka Mountain. There are excellent views from the top looking back to Anuradhapura.

DAY 4: (Anuradhapura – Dambulla)
Travel time: Approx. 02 hrs drive.
Leaving Anuradhapura, we pause to view the magnificent Standing Buddha of Aukana, which stands
12 meters high. Sculptured in the 5th century by a master craftsman, it is still relatively isolated in
its jungle setting.
Then drive to Dambulla, where a great series of caves have been turned into temples (dating from
the 1st century BC). We will visit five separate caves, which contain many Buddha images and a few
sculptures of Hindu Gods. In one of the caves there is an incredible Reclining Buddha measuring
14m long! This World Heritage Site is visited by crowds of worshippers.
Reach the resort in Dambulla in the late afternoon.

DAY 5: (Dambulla – Sigiriya – Polonnaruwa - Dambulla)
In the morning drive to Sigiriya where you climb to the Sky Fortress. The ruins of this 5th century
fortress is one of Sri Lanka's major attractions, a stupendous sight to behold and a feat of
consummate engineering skill. Halfway up, tucked beneath a sheltering overhang of rock, are the
famous frescoes - the Sigiriya Damsels, their colors still glowing. Magnificent views can be enjoyed
from the summit of the rock palace.
After lunch, explore the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, which reached its height of glory in the 12th
century. The city still has many interesting and spectacular buildings and monuments. There is the
Royal Palace Group with its Audience Hall, Bathing Pool and Quadrangle - a very compact collection
of ruins. Another famous feature of the deserted city is the group of carved images of the Buddha
known as Gal vihara. Here there are four colossal figures, all of which are hewn out of solid granite.
Later in the afternoon return to Dambulla.

DAY 6: (Dambulla - Kandy)
Travel time: Approx. 02hrs drive.
This Morning, two-hour drive takes us to Kandy. En route, visit the woodcarving Centre and a Spice
Garden in Matale. Enlighten your-self with the different varieties of spices used in Sri Lankan
cuisines, how the famous spices of Sri Lanka are grown and processed. Relax and enjoy a 10
minutes complimentary Ayurveda Massage & traditional Sri Lankan Lunch.
Then visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic known as the Sri Dalia Maligawa & Witness an iconic,
traditional Kandyan dancing and drumming performance, with dancers dressed in cultural clothing.

DAY 7: (Kandy – Nuwara Eliya)
Travel time: Approx. 02.30hrs drive.
Sri Lankan Cookery Lesson with our Chef in Kandy! - Find out how to select the best ingredients
for a traditional Rice and Curry from the Farm's vegetable and herb garden and the local village
stores; prepare your curry sauces, fruit and vegetables and then cook them to perfection. Then
share your own Sri Lankan Rice and Curry lunch with your party. your cookery lesson including, of
course, your own lunch.
Then head off across the highlands, through green rolling hills covered in tea plantations, visiting a
working tea factory en route to the hill station of Nuwara Eliya. After checking into the hotel you’ll
take a tour around this little town, known as Little England, famous for its lake, golf and racecourse
and well-manicured gardens.

DAY 8: (Nuwara Eliya)

DAY 9: (Nuwara Eliya - Yala)
Travel time: Approx. 04.30hrs drive.
Today heading south out of the hills we travel to Sri Lanka's best-known national park, Yala. The
park is popular for elephant, leopard, bear, crocodile and Wild boar. At 97,800 hectares, this is the
second largest of Sri Lanka's national parks. Its open undulating terrain made it famous for
elephants for many years, but recently the park has also become better known for leopard. The
park, which is primarily shrub jungle with several salt and freshwater lagoons, has one of the
highest concentrations of leopard per square kilometer the world.
Conduct a private Jeep Safari at Yala National Park.
